James “Jimmy” Aaron Pflaster – Founder
James “Jimmy” Aaron Pflaster successfully passed the California State Bar in June of 1973 and began providing high-quality legal services to the community in all aspects of litigation. His enthusiasm and a never-ending quest for more knowledge and experience proved invaluable, as he soon amassed a proficiency for, and love of, business and civil litigation. It was then that Pflaster decided to refine his practice to focus on and specialize in the areas of employment, personal injury, immigration and business litigation. This immediately led to representing both individuals AND companies with much success. James “Jimmy” Aaron Pflaster passed on January 1, 2009. But for 35 years, he practiced law the same way he lived – full of optimism and zeal – always keeping his principles, along with his clients, close to his heart.
Martin R. Berman
In December of 1986, Martin R. Berman graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California with his JURIS DOCTOR and was admitted to the California State Bar. Through the years, he has also been admitted to practice in the District Court for the Central District of California (1987), Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals (1987), District of Columbia (1989), District Court for the District of Columbia (1989), District Court for the Central District of Illinois (1993), District Court for the Northern District of California (1997), District Court for the District of Arizona (1997), and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals (2002).
In 1998, Berman began collaborating with his close friend, James “Jimmy” Aaron Pflaster, at the Law Offices of James Aaron Pflaster. In 1999, they became partners, combining their talents and focusing on employment and business-related cases. Together, they proved to be even more successful than they had previously been on their own, as their work generated millions of dollars in recovery for their Plaintiff clients and provided exceptional defense to their Defendant clients. With Jimmy Pflaster’s passing in 2009, Martin Berman took over his friend’s mantle as Attorney/Principal for what is now known as the LAW OFFICES OF PFLASTER & BERMAN, and has continued to use his extensive experience and knowledge to ensure the complete satisfaction of each and every client.
From June to October, 2013, Berman temporarily filled the position of Assistant City Attorney for the City Attorney’s Office in Simi Valley, California. He was responsible for the review and investigation of all new tort claim filings and also acted as the city’s representative at various settlement conferences and presented cases at closed City Council sessions. He was in charge of a comprehensive review and revision of the city’s claims, handling policies and procedures. Additionally, Berman worked on numerous matters, including those which involved the Brown Act, the California Public Records Act, code enforcement, aggressive solicitation, and license agreements for wireless communications sites.
As a trial attorney specializing in employment, personal injury and business litigation, Berman has represented clients in both state and federal courts. He has also represented clients in various appellate courts, including the California Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. Berman has represented clients in numerous jury trials, arbitrations, appeals and mediations resulting in millions of dollars of either recovery or savings for clients.
